Subject: Integral Evolution December 20, 2006

Good to see that David Lane's 1996 critique of Wilber's work is being re-posted on Integral World.

Always a treat to re-read Dave's work, since he was really the one who started the "thinking critically about Wilber" movement, a decade ago.

When I was researching the chapter on kw in STG, I remember coming across a reader review on amazon.com, offering a brief defense of Wilber's relevant errors in ABHOE.

Because, of course, kw's misstatements of evolution and of the Pythagorean Theorem were simply isolated, minor errors, which in no way detracted from the worth of his Grand Integral Vision on the whole.

Heh.

Well, we've all learned a lot since then, especially with regard to the degree of respect and deference (i.e., none) to which kw is entitled in having his work critiqued ... and invariably found wanting.
